Q: Hi Tomer, thanks a lot for being with us today! You’re known for spending endless hours in the studio. What keeps you there day and night?
Tomer Shefer: It’s all about the craft. For me, being a DJ is only half the story. The real magic happens in the studio. I spend countless hours every week producing original tracks and remixes because I want to bring something exclusive to my sets. It’s that obsession with sound that actually got me invited to the Abbey Road Institute – they heard a track I produced in those long sessions and reached out.
Q: You’ve worked with huge names lately, including a remix for Eurovision star Eden Golan. How was that experience?
Tomer Shefer: Working with an artist like Eden Golan is incredible. When I worked on the remix for her, the goal was to take her world-class vocals and give them a fresh, electronic energy that fits the biggest dance floors. It’s about raising the bar and delivering perfection. I’m also excited to share that I have several new tracks dropping soon featuring collaborations with some very well-known names in the industry. Stay tuned.
Q: Why is it so important for you to prioritize your original production?
Tomer Shefer: Anyone can play a hit, but not everyone can create one. Whether I’m playing a set at Funjoya or headlining for Rapyd, playing my own music is what makes the experience unique. It’s not just a party; it’s a performance of my work alongside legends like Subliminal and the new generation of stars. It’s about creating a sound that is 100% mine.
Q: What’s next for Tomer Shefer? Any big projects on the horizon?
Tomer Shefer: I’m currently focused on expanding my international presence, with more global collaborations and high-scale productions in the works. My goal is to keep representing the Israeli electronic scene on the world’s biggest stages. The next chapter is going to be the biggest one yet.
Q: You’ve recently finished building your new professional studio. How has this new space impacted your creative process?
Tomer Shefer: Building this studio was deeply personal. I needed to design a space that fully reflects my vibe and provides the ultimate creative comfort. I’ve integrated personal elements from my life to fuel my inspiration for example, I have my grandmother’s accordion in the studio. It’s a constant reminder of my musical roots while I’m producing modern electronic tracks. It’s a high-end acoustic environment where my history meets the future of my sound.
