For Sabol, songwriting has always been closely connected to personal experience. Her journey began when her parents surprised her with a guitar during eighth grade so she could join a contemporary music group at church. In those early years, she would retreat to her bedroom and write songs about teenage heartbreak, discovering music as a place where emotions could be expressed honestly and without restraint.
Although she continued writing and sharing her music with a small circle, it was only after 2020 that Sabol began seriously expanding her artistic horizons. Connecting with fellow independent musicians challenged her to find her own voice and raise her creative ambitions. That evolution ultimately resulted in The Great Divide, her impressive 2024 album inspired by stories of betrayal, healing, and forgiveness. Speak to Me represents another significant step in that journey. Although the songs were composed over several years, they acquired an entirely new emotional meaning after a life-threatening autoimmune illness in 2025 confronted Sabol with profound questions surrounding faith, health, and the future. The EP opens with its beautiful title track, “Speak To Me,” an exceptionally heartfelt composition that immediately establishes the spiritual and emotional character of the release.
