ALYXX, thanks for being with us today at Planet Singer! Your music is incredible, releases such as “6 Feet Under,” “Serenity,” “Monster,” and “Lose It All,” are proof of your artistic maturity and talent! We are thrilled to know more about your artistic journey, so let’s start from the very beginning. When did you start singing?

My parents like to tell me I’ve been singing since I was a baby, but I started taking voice lessons when I was 6.

How did you learn to sing? Have you studied with a professional vocal coach?

My voice teacher Betty Glenn was an awesome teacher. I started working with her when I was about 7 or 8. She really helped me with all the basics of singing. There’s surprisingly a lot that goes into it. Throughout the years I’ve worked with many other teachers, each of which had their own method. Now I just take the pieces from their teachings that I felt resonated with me the best.

Your songwriting is brilliant, catchy, and intense. How does your music come to life? Do you write all of your own songs?

Yes, I write all of my own songs. I’ve been writing music since I was 15. I play piano/synth and have recently learned a little bass and how to program drums, which I do for my demos. But when it comes time to track everything in the studio, my drummer Zaki Ali and guitarist Brandon Hawkes help me bring my songs to life.

Who are some inspirations of yours?

Adam Gontier and Amy Lee I would say are two huge inspirations of mine. I grew up listening to Three Days Grace and Evanescence. I’ve always connected with their music and the way you can feel their emotions through their music. I also listen to a lot of classical music, so composers like Tomaso Albinoni and Beethoven are also inspirations to me as well.

What was your first concert?

My first concert was Project Revolution at Jones Beach. It was The Used, Less Than Jake, Snoop Dog, Korn, and Linkin Park. I always thought it was strange to have Snoop Dog in that lineup, but it was still entertaining. Korn and Linkin Park were amazing live.

Who are some of your favorite musicians?

Adam Gontier, Amy Lee, Lzzy Hale, Benjamin Burnley.

I’ve trained in martial arts for the past 5.5 years. I’ve trained in MMA and Pekiti Tirsia Kali for 3.5 years, but now I just train in Muay Thai.

Fantastic! What are your plans for the future? What do you have coming up next?
