Nique Star, thanks a lot for being with us today! Your latest two singles, “Cyber Girl” and “Graveyards In My Heart” stand out for originality and creativity, and speak loud words about your artistic maturity and vision. We are thrilled to know more about you and your artistic journey, so let’s start from the very beginning. When did you discover your passion for music?

I always loved to write things whether it was short stories, poems, or random things that rhymed. As I got older in high school I started to rap over instrumentals and record myself and put them on Instagram and that’s when I decided to go further, I was very shy as a kid and had a lot of anxiety so I never would’ve pictured myself as a music artist.

“Cyber Girl” and “Graveyards In My Heart” are two of the singles that anticipate your upcoming album titled “The Boy From Starworld,” dropping on February 23rd. Can you tell us more about this project?

This project was so fun to create I feel like I finally showcased and crafted my sound and what type of music I wanted to create. There is a song for everyone to enjoy on this album, very alternative in style but I think people will enjoy it!

“Cyber Girl” is such a brilliant track. The great beat and the captivating lyrics keep the listeners engaged from the first note to the last. What’s the story behind this song?

So while making this album I kept saying I wanted to make a very upbeat song and while recording I just got the hook stuck in my head “Cyber girl you really rock my world” but struggled with making a beat to match it but finally I created one that went perfectly with it and finished the song in 1 take very fun process.

Can you tell us what your creative process is? How does your music come to life?

My creative process is very fun, my music comes to life in many ways sometimes I have ideas for the type of songs I want to create and can go from there by writing in the style of what I want it to sound like. I can sometimes also get really inspired by a beat or by making certain beats puts me in a certain vibe that I can just right countless songs off of, I honestly have so much fun creating music it’s a different experience every time.

Your style is pretty unique and brings a big stream of fresh air into a genre such as Hip-Hop, by blending other genres and vibes into your sound. Is it the result of your natural approach to music, or did you come up with this blend by studying the oversaturated music panorama we are all getting used to nowadays?

Yes, it actually is! when I first started making music I fell into making music that was very similar to other artists and it didn’t showcase my identity, but as I started to grow up more and really embrace myself and how unique I am it came natural and the music evolved into what it is now, being more authentic and showcasing sounds that you regularly don’t hear however I do study the sound today and work on different ways to make sure my music doesn’t fall into the overstimulation.

Your other single from “The Boy From Starworld,” the excellent “Graveyards In My Heart” is another track that carries a strong message and a sophisticated sound. Can you tell us more about this track?

It’s so funny because this was a track that I freestyled in 2 minutes just to exercise my mind but when I went to listen back I hadn’t realized how beautiful the song was and I decided to add it to the album this was one of those accidental masterpieces.

If you could collaborate with one of the artists who inspired you and your journey, who would you like to share the stage and a song with?

I definitely would love to collaborate with Nicki Minaj she’s such a dope artist and her versatility and artistic vision really inspire me because of the way she can effortlessly blend into any genre/sound and just sound so amazing; a lot of artists can’t do what she does.

And talking about the stage, are you planning any live gig in support of the album release?

I hadn’t planned anything at the moment but I am definitely open to it so keep an eye out!

You bring innovation to your genre, yet your sound keeps alive the best lyrical and rhythmic tradition of the Hip-Hop of the golden era. With the advent of AI, the scene is getting even more oversaturated; do you think your generation of Hip-Hop fans is losing the connection to what good and bad music is?

Yes the connection is definitely being lost, I think people see how easy it is to go viral and make a viral song nowadays so they are ditching the talent and just making what they think will go viral, the song doesn’t have to be good or bad if you have the “clout” you will still go farther vs someone who really has the talent but may not have the push.

Your Hip-Hop is injected with vibes of different styles, so we are very excited to listen to the whole “The Boy From Starworld” album. Will there be songs of different genres as well in the full-length or will you keep the main root of the project in the Hip-Hop soundscape?

The overall album has an Alternative rap style. Some songs have some melodic rap styles to them others are kind of experimental in a way, So there will be a kind of mix but I think a wide variety of people will enjoy the songs because they’re all similar but have different sounds and feelings.

Where do you find your inspiration as an artist?

My inspiration is found in my passion for creating things. I often find myself listening to my favorite artists’ songs and while listening creating my own version in my head or something entirely different. I also come up with my ideas for projects by telling stories with my music whether it’s my story or a story someone else can relate to

What are your plans for the future?

My plans for the future are to definitely continue to improve my craft, make my name more known and work with more music artists.

Nique Star, it was such a pleasure having you with us today. Is there anything you would like to say to our readers and your fans?
