Waikiki, welcome back! Thank you so much for taking the time for this interview. We are thrilled to have you here and dive straight into the great news of the release of your latest song. Your latest single, “Aloha Catch a Wave With Me,” has such a radiant, uplifting vibe. Can you tell us about the moment or feeling that first sparked the idea for this song?
Aloha Catch a Wave With Me – is a breezy, upbeat production with enchanting, pop dance/afro beats & catchy sing-along hooks.
My inspiration is rooted in a specific memory, which came from dating a super guy back home on Maui. All day long, I would watch him catch a wave off the tropical shores of Hawaii. It’s about loving watching him surf and loving Mother Nature at the same time. It was a wonderful experience to be in love on magical Maui.
The track reached the Top 50 on Spotify’s Panama playlist! How does it feel to see your island-inspired sound connecting with audiences all over the world?
It feels surreal that I have made a connection with music lovers as they become engaged in my tropical, enchanting pop dance vibes.
You’ve described your sound as a blend of Dance/Pop with Polynesian and Afro-beat influences. How do you approach merging these distinct styles into something so cohesive and uniquely yours?
That’s a great question, and my source sometimes comes from the force of the awesome universe. Musical lyrics & melodies come into my mind often when I sleep at night. If I can remember, then I write them down after I wake up & manifest them into songs. My very first international release, “Maui NO KA OI, “ landed me a record deal with BMG, EMI Warner / Chappell & international success because the song came to me in a dream.
Your music carries a strong sense of joy and positivity. Is this an intentional mission when you write, or does it come naturally from your personality and island roots?
My songs all come naturally from my life’s journey back on Maui.
My personality & island roots have everything to do with my ability to create songs.
“Aloha Catch a Wave With Me” was inspired by a personal story from your life in Maui. How often do real-life memories shape your songwriting process?
Every song I write is inspired by my journey through life. I mainly like to write about romantic experiences, be they good or sad.

Your upcoming bilingual single, “Pina Colada Babe Sur Le Plage,” sounds exciting! What inspired you to explore both English and French lyrics this time?
Thank you for asking, that is an interesting question. I once wrote a song called “Pina Colada”. This was inspired by seeing a fine dude on the beach at “Dig Me Beach” on Waikiki in Hawaii. I wanted to catch his attention, so in order to stand out from the other “birds of paradise,” I compared myself to a tropical drink called “Pina Colada”.
One year, I was in Cannes, France, attending the Midem, trying to get a record deal with the track, when a label called StickMusic from Paris liked the song, but they were interested in a new version in French / English. We did that, and it was a radio success.
After that experience, I thought if I remixed, rewrote & re-recorded that song again, I’ll bet I could create an even better, fresher, and awesome new version.
Yes, I guess one might say I made a deliberate attempt to connect with European audiences because music lovers love the blending of languages & styles. But after producing this new English / French Version, I feel it is the best song I have ever composed!
You’ve performed in so many places—Japan, Europe, the U.S., and China. How have these international experiences influenced your sound and perspective as an artist?
The international experiences influenced my sound greatly. I always remained true to myself, but artists like Alizee, Kygo, Chappell Roan, Taylor Swift, Dua Lipa, Lady Gaga, Avinci, & so many other artists help me to improve and develop my sound and identity.
My perspective as an artist was a “Game Changer”. Once you start performing in front of thousands of music lovers with your dancers as your support, it is really thrilling, but the audience will suck every drop of energy you have in your soul & body. You have to be focused, serious, mentally & physically strong to be an artist. It will take over your life & you have to work very hard every day, also at the same time create a brand. I guess I was born to be an artist because I love living with music.
Your career shows a beautiful balance between authenticity and global appeal. What’s your secret to staying true to your Hawaiian roots while creating songs that resonate internationally?
I love life & people. We all have a mission as artists, and mine is I want people to be happy. I want to uplift & connect with the listener.
I also spend some time studying the musical scene, paying attention to trends, and educating myself with the business industry.
The visual side of your work—your music videos and vibrant imagery—feels like an extension of your sound. How involved are you in the creative direction of your visuals?
I’m 100% involved in the creation of my music and brand.
While I’m open to suggestions, the videos, costumes, musical content, and brand image are all created by me.
You’ve worked with major industry names like EMI Warner/Chappell and Mountain Music. What’s been the most valuable lesson you’ve learned from collaborating with such experienced teams?
My major label association with the global partners has helped me to move beyond a local scene but into a global pop market for
fresh, authentic voices & concepts. I will forever be grateful for the doors they opened, filled with opportunities, and the journey they put me on.
As a performer, your energy is infectious. What does performing live mean to you personally, and how do you translate your island spirit to audiences far from home?
When I first began to perform, I noticed there was something about my performance that made people go crazy with joy. Most people will never get across the pond to Hawaii, so I bring the Aloha spirit to them through my shows. My concept is totally unique & I get that – but to connect with an audience and bring high energy joy is an incredible experience.

The world can often feel heavy these days—how do you maintain your motivation to create music that spreads joy and light?
I know in my heart that I was born to help and give people joy.
People say when they meet me, I’m filled with the light.
Looking back, what would you say has been your proudest moment so far in your musical journey?
My proudest moment so far on my musical journey was taking my team and traveling to Kosovo into a war zone for the United Nations. I did a 7-day tour to entertain the KFOR Forces. Went from camp to camp performing for soldiers of different countries, ready to give the lives who were missing their loved ones back home. It was no picnic & I was scared at times, but I did it anyway & I learned so much about freedom & the price our brave soldiers pay every day so we can be free.
And looking forward—besides “Pina Colada Babe Sur Le Plage,” what can fans expect next? Maybe an album or a tour in the near future?
You never know what is around the corner in life, and the music industry is filled with surprises, but I hope I can keep creating, performing & connecting with my audience in an uplifting, joyful way. The rest is all extra!
Waikiki, it was such a pleasure having you with us today! If you could send one message to your listeners around the world, what would you like them to feel or remember after hearing your music?
