Exclusive Interview with talented artist Comatose Red Ivy!

Ivy, thanks a lot for being here with us today at Planet Singer! Your latest release is more than a collection of five tracks; it is a powerful yet intimate journey into your artistic world. But let’s start from the beginning; When did you discover your passion for music?

My passion for music started at birth on Earth as a listener enjoying the artwork of others; however, my passion for creating music began October 16 5:43am when I woke a rapper and singer.

“No Dizzle Foshizzle” is dynamic, energetic, and captivating from the first second to the last! Can you tell us more about this track?

Well I found a new voice and I’ve been flexing it a lot, a deeper voice that everyone so far has been saying is very captivating and this track is about finally accepting waking up a rapper, so i compare it to my sister being a better wrapper than me because she can wrap presents as fast as the Elf (Will Ferrell movie), then I flex just a lil on my izzle bars but got a surprise coming from one of my other artist profiles as I manage 6 artist profiles now.

Where do you find your inspiration?

Pain, deceit, terror, abuse, sadness, emptiness, loneliness, broken heart and deciding to never love or allow anyone to love me again. Had a bad couple past years and pushing to get to a good place. I’d love to see what art I created from a  happy place.

Your songwriting is truly unique. Can you reveal what your creative process is? How does your music come to life?

Song writing? Lol, that’s funny. Yes, I hit record, sing, press stop, name it and upload. Unless otherwise noted ALL of my songs are freestyle, first try every try. My rock albums are written but everything else heart to microphone the way music should be done.

“Old Me For You,” “Wicked Game,” and “The Dance” are other incredible tracks. Can you tell us more about these songs?

Wicked Game and The Dance we all know where those came from just two songs I always loved but The Dance I wish I wouldn’t have learned Garth Brooks didn’t write that, I don’t even like that song anymore over that and don’t like my version either but put it on the album anyway. “Old Me For You” is  a song about nobody in my family accepting me waking up a singer and rapper as they have never once any of them ever acknowledged that my career shifted overnight and they get really uncomfortable and irritated the few times I had brought it up before I gave up on them too. They want the old me so they can go be the old me for them.

How important is it to you to be true to yourself and deliver a genuine message to your fans?

I wouldn’t even know how to exist any other way, I didn’t even know that was optional as a person and recommend everyone to always be true to you.

If you could collaborate with one of the artists who inspired your music, who would you like to share a song with?

Mac Miller.

“Goodbye For Daddy” closes your release, another intriguing and powerful track. What’s the story behind it?

The ending of the love of my that taught me all about love but never loved me, that’s a follow up to “Truth for Daddy” letting him finally go and accepting he nor anyone else will ever love me and identifying that love only exists in fairy tales. Being in love with him and serving and honoring him, being loyal and always on call as I’d even wait at his feet, the place I wanted to be turned me into an empty shell of a person once I finally was dismissed and pushed away.

What are your plans for the future?

Focusing on Mental Health, had a lot of help recenlty with mental health and supporting mental health causes such as spreading awareness about the new Suicide Prevention number 988 with my new single. Trying to overcome my problems so I can assist others with theirs. Often it’s easy for me to give good advice but hard for me to follow through myself, working on staying positive.

Ivy, it was such a pleasure having you with us today! Is there anything you would like to say to our readers and to your fans?
